One of my main goals for this course is to become more confident in my ability to actually write code on my own. Right now, I understand some basics, but I still rely a lot on examples and videos for help, so I want to get to a point where I can build things from scratch without second guessing myself. I'm also interested in learning how websites are really structured behind the scenes, because I've never fully understood how everything connects. I hope to not just follow tutorials, but to experiment and solve problems on my own, even if I make mistakes along the way. I also want to explore different programming tools and languages, so I can figure out which ones I like and fit my style and goals. Overall, I want to leave this course feeling more independent, capable, and excited about tackling new coding challenges.
For my career, I want to work in cybersecurity in a way where I'm actually involved in protecting systems and figuring out problems as they happen. I can see myself working with networks, spotting issues, and trying to stop attacks before they get serious. I don't expect to know everything right away, but I do want to keep getting better over time and build enough experience to take on bigger responsibilities. I like that cybersecurity is always changing, so I know it's something that will keep me learning instead of getting boring. Another reason I'm interested in this field is because, with AI and other advancements in technology, people and companies will always need protection against cyber attacks, so it's a career that will continue to be important in the future. At the same time, I'm also interested in game design and coding video games, since it offers a more creative side of technology and still helps me understand how systems and code work together.
